The ground is much the same from one town to the next. Georgia red clay sits under most of these yards, it holds water after a hard rain, and it is the main reason a driveway or patio cracks or sinks before its time. What changes is the lot. A flat yard in Austell is a different job from a backyard in Hiram or Dallas that falls away from the house, where a retaining wall or a change in pitch may have to come before any new concrete.
Rules can change with the address, too. Some of these towns are cities with their own building departments, and others are unincorporated parts of the county. Work that ties into the street, like a driveway apron, or a tall wall on a slope, is where those rules tend to come up, so ask about it when Francisco looks at the job.
