Driveway Replacement
On an older Lithia Springs home the driveway has usually seen decades of tree roots, heavy rain and car traffic. We break it out, haul it off, correct the grade so water runs to the street and pour a new slab with fresh joints.
Replacing tired driveways and front steps on established Lithia Springs streets, a 20 to 25 minute drive from Powder Springs.
Lithia Springs sits in east Douglas County where I-20 meets Thornton Road, just south of Austell and across Sweetwater Creek from Cobb. Medina Concrete is a concrete contractor Lithia Springs homeowners can book for a free estimate, and we drive over from Powder Springs in roughly 20 to 25 minutes.
This is one of the older parts of the west side. Many streets are lined with ranch houses and split levels that have had the same driveway, front stoop and carport slab for decades. Those surfaces are what we get called about most: concrete that has cracked, sunk or broken up past the point of patching.
Lithia Springs is unincorporated, so Douglas County, not a city hall, is the local government here. Francisco Medina comes to each estimate himself and talks you through whether a slab can be saved or should come out. Next door on the Cobb side, see our Austell page.

On an older Lithia Springs home the driveway has usually seen decades of tree roots, heavy rain and car traffic. We break it out, haul it off, correct the grade so water runs to the street and pour a new slab with fresh joints.
Ranch houses here often have a front stoop that has pulled away from the foundation or a walk that heaved over a root. We tear out the damaged section and pour new steps and a walkway that meet the door at a comfortable height.
Plenty of homeowners want to close in a carport or put a roof over a bare front slab. We frame the porch or garage structure and can pour or replace the slab under it in the same project.
When a smaller ranch house needs another room, an addition is often easier than moving. We handle the foundation and the framing, which is where an addition starts.
Everything else we do is on the services page.
Lithia Springs filled in decades before the newer subdivisions farther west in Douglas and Paulding. The houses near Thornton Road and the older roads around it tend to sit on modest lots with big hardwoods, and those trees have had a long time to send roots under every slab nearby.
Roots lift one panel and leave the next one sitting low, which makes a trip edge on a walk and a bump on a driveway. When we replace that concrete, we cut back what we can, compact the base and set the joints so the next crack has somewhere sensible to go.
Sweetwater Creek runs along the east side of the community on its way to the Chattahoochee, and the state park around it is the green edge of town. Parts of the area sit lower and stay wetter after a storm, and an old driveway pitched the wrong way can send water toward the garage instead of the street.
Fixing that is part of the pour. We check the fall from house to road before forming, and on a lot that holds water we add gravel under the slab so it can drain instead of sitting on soaked clay.
Not every old slab has to go. A few hairline cracks on a level driveway can be sealed and left alone, while a slab that has sunk, broken into pieces or tipped toward the house is better torn out. Francisco will tell you which one you have.
The price on these jobs depends on how much old concrete has to be broken out and hauled, how much grading is needed, and the size and finish of the new pour. The estimate is free, and you can ask him anything in English or Spanish.
Yes. We travel to Lithia Springs in east Douglas County from our base in Powder Springs, about 20 to 25 minutes away. Francisco gives free estimates there Monday through Friday.
It depends on the damage. A level slab with a few fine cracks can often be sealed, while a driveway that has sunk, broken into pieces or lifted over tree roots is usually better replaced. Francisco looks at it in person and tells you which makes sense.
A repair costs less up front, but only works when the slab underneath is still sound. If the base has failed, patching the surface does not last and you pay twice. We tell you honestly which one your concrete needs.
Asphalt usually costs less to put down, while concrete costs more at the start but needs less upkeep over the years. For driveways we pour concrete, and Francisco can explain what a concrete driveway on your lot would involve at a free estimate.
The price depends on the length and width of the walk, whether old concrete has to be broken out first, any steps involved and the finish you choose. Every estimate is free.
It depends on the size of the addition and how it ties into the house. The foundation has to be poured and cure before framing starts. Francisco can walk you through the steps for your addition at the estimate.
